Meet Alexandra
Alexandra Friedman’s green thumb was nurtured at a young age, tending to gardens alongside her grandmothers. From berry picking to collecting chicken eggs, her fascination with growing and cultivating blossomed early on, sparking a lifelong passion.
After college, Alex deepened her love of gardening while helping her mother-in-law, Susan, nurture a vibrant biodynamic garden teeming with tomatoes, basil, cucumbers, and peonies. Her journey took an exciting turn when she discovered the joys of seed starting in the bustling landscape of New York City.
Despite the limits of apartment living, Alex found that her charming apartment with east-facing windows and radiators beneath them was the perfect environment for her plants to thrive. Her greenery flourished, allowing her to donate seedlings to community gardens across the city. She even transformed her Upper East Side terrace into a flourishing raised-bed garden before transitioning from city life to suburban bliss in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Community
Greenwich is more than a town to Alexandra Friedman. It is a community that fuels her creativity, generosity, and sense of belonging. Life here moves with an easy rhythm: mornings in the garden, afternoons by the water, and evenings shared with family and friends.
Known for her warmth and natural ability to connect, Alex brings authenticity and joy to everything she touches. Through her involvement in local garden clubs and the Growing Kindness Project, she finds fulfillment in cultivating not only flowers but also connection and kindness throughout the community.
Her love of nature, home, and hospitality eventually inspired The Greenwich Home, a place to share the beauty she creates and the lifestyle she cherishes. It reflects her belief that elegance and comfort can coexist, and that the most meaningful spaces are the ones that tell a story.
A life in bloom is one rooted in family, community, and creativity — where each day offers the chance to grow, give back, and live beautifully.
