Rosie Jones Hori Culture Award

The Garden Club of America’s Rosie Jones Horticulture Award carries a special legacy. Rosie Jones is remembered not only for her remarkable plants, but for the joy she brought to growing and the generosity with which she shared her knowledge. The award that bears her name honors horticulture entries that do the same, capturing beauty, vitality, and a spirit that inspires others to grow.

This year, I was deeply honored to receive the Rosie Jones Award at my very first GCA flower competition, along with three additional ribbons. As a member of the Green Fingers Garden Club, it was especially meaningful to share this recognition with a community that has been cultivating gardens, friendships, and spirit in Greenwich for nearly a century.

For me, the award is less about competition and more about what gardening gives back: connection, joy, and the chance to carry forward traditions that root us in place. The Rosie Jones Award celebrates that spirit, and I feel grateful that this year, it blossomed here in Greenwich.
